Diplomats say Russia and China have scuttled a Western attempt to introduce a resolution on Iran's nuclear defiance at a meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
The diplomats said the move by Moscow and Beijing appears to have been prompted by unhappiness about not being informed in time that such a resolution was in the making. They spoke Tuesday to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because their information was confidential.
Somehow, everything that's been happening in the last few days may end up fizzing out to nothing, but to me it looks like conflicts are escalating at a frightening pace worldwide. Is this it?
