Here is a list of events scheduled for 2010, the year that the Abomination of Desolation, the institution of the mark of the beast, and the world-wide violent persecution of Christians will occur, if Daniel's "Covenant with many" really started on Jan. 1st of this year. The idea of using all available technology to monitor the animals, plants, environment is part of the Sixth Environmental Action Program. A little project called 'Countdown:2010' is the biodiversity program being used to push through the GMES by 2010. (And they'll get it done, too, cuz it's for the poor animals!) GMES, when it is completed in 2010, will also be used as part of GMOSS (i.e. Global Monitoring for Security and Stability). GMOSS is part of "a network of excellence in the aeronautics and space priority of the Sixth Framework Programme." GMOSS emphasizes "Human Security: People - Homes - Infrastructure." GMES itself is linked with other geo-referencing systems under the heading of two programes known as INSPIRE (Infrastructure for Spatial Information in Europe) and, under the biodiversity side, HALO (Harmonised coordination of Atmosphere, Land and Ocean... integrated projects of the GMES backbone).

not to mention other military, security, econimic, and political events set for that year. go to yahoo! news and search for "2010" and see what you come up with.

one that really interests me is that the EU animal welfare program will be fully implimented in 2010, and I have to find a link to verify it, but halfway through 2010 is when the EU will be measuring ENP member states(Israel included) for compliance with certain terms, and animal rights is on the list for compliance. In Daniel it says he will end the sacrifices "by way of transgression" and I think that might be what it means. time will tell...
